Adekunle Adisa US Based Adisa was born to a family of educators, who dedicated their life to the service of humanity and the development of their community in Nigeria. He spent most of his childhood in different parts of the country Nigeria, had his first degree in Computer Science and first worked as a contractor for 5 years in an Oil and Gas company in Nigeria before proceeding to the United Kingdom to advance his studies, earning a Masters degree in Information Security and Computer Forensics. His working experience spans the Oil and Gas, Telecommunication, IT Services, Financial, Pharmaceutical industries and now in the Hospitality industry.  Kunle is a believer and serves as a volunteer in his church, supports charity organizations and provides free IT services to friends and church.  He is blessed with a lovely wife and three daughters.

Anthony Maxwell Amoakoh Ghana Based Anthony is a retired educationist and has thirty-eight (38) years of experience as a teacher and educational administrator in the pre-tertiary division of education in Ghana. He has experience as a teacher in the basic and secondary education sector in Ghana after graduating with a Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ from Kibi Training College, a Diploma in Education from the University of Education- Winneba, and a Degree in Primary Education from the University of Cape Coast. His vast experience and rich knowledge in basic pedagogy, organization, and administration in pre-tertiary education is going to impact positively on activities of BTCTE. As a Director of Education, he has come into contact with diverse people with different cultural and social backgrounds. His contact with both urban and rural, rich and poor, high and low, lettered and unlettered, deprived and well-resourced personalities puts him in a big stead to support the activities of the organization.

Elizabeth Angmornor Ghana Based Elizabeth is a self-motivated young woman, who was born on 5th January,1994 and raised in OKpalama in Oti region of Ghana. She is a proud beneficiary of Breaking the Chain Through Education. She had her degree in Bachelor of Arts in social studies education and Geography from the University of Education Winneba in the Central region of Ghana and completed as a teacher by profession in the year 2023. She now serves as a professional teacher under the National Service Scheme of Ghana at Dorfor Senior High School in the Volta region. She is married with one daugher and stays with her family at Juapong in the Volta region of Ghana.

Michael Baer US Based Michael was born and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey. He graduated from Clark University in Worcester, Mass with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He then returned to the NYC area and graduated from Pace University School of Law in White Plains with a Doctorate of Law. He currently maintains a law office in New York and New Jersey. His practice focuses on Civil Litigation for individuals, small companies and multi-million dollar corporations. In addition to his law practice, Michael keeps himself busy actively participating by sitting on the board of directors of several not for profit organizations. Michael lives in Fair Lawn, New Jersey with his wife, Robin where they raised their two daughters, Julia and Jess.

Christina Bohm US Based Treasurer Christina first became involved with BTCTE in 2008 as one of Evan’s students at Metuchen High School.   While she enjoyed her experience with fundraising and outreach, it wasn’t until after college and working for a few years at an investment bank in New York that she wanted to get more involved.  She answered a note on Facebook in 2016 that volunteers were welcome and reconnected with Evan.  A few weeks later, she had a ticket booked to Accra and was going to join the group that summer. The trip sealed her fate as a lifetime supporter.  Christina lives in New York City with her fiancée, dog and two cats.

Kwedzo Konadu Ghana Based Kwadwo is a Ghanaian based in Accra the capital who has over a decade experience in Human Resource and People Management, Project Management, Youth and Community Development, Administration, and Organisational Management. He is the Executive Director for Human Capital and Social Development International (HuCASDEVI), a non-profit organization that advocates for disadvantaged communities, youth development, orphanages, and foster homes. Kwadwo is the General Manager for CIPD Consult Ltd, a training, IT Security, and Consultancy organization. Kwadwo is a graduate of the University of Ghana with a BA in Political Science with History and also an MSc in International Relations from Kingston University - London. He has worked with charities such as Positive East - London, Refugee Action Kingston, BeatBully (Future You), Sandema Educational Resource Centre UK, and others in the UK. Kwadwo is happily married to a wonderful wife, Mavis. Kwadwo is a Board Member for several charities and schools where he uses his skills, knowledge, and experience to help in their affairs.

Evan Robbins US Based Executive Director Evan was raised in Merrick, New York. He graduated from Ithaca College with a BA in marketing and from Queens College with a MA in Social Studies Education. He has been teaching high school Social Studies since 1990, beginning his career in NYC and then teaching at Metuchen High School since 1997. Evan founded BTCTE in 2006 after reading a newspaper story about a child slave in Ghana. In 2014, he received the Reg Weaver Award for Human and Civil Rights from the National Education Association (the year after Jimmy Carter won it). Evan and his wife Lisa have two daughters, Arianna and Maya.

Lisa Robbins US Based Secretary Lisa earned her Ed.D. in Special Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and has been teaching children for over 20 years. She is currently employed as a reading specialist in Montclair, NJ where she works with children in grades K-2 who struggle with early literacy acquisition.  In addition, she does professional development for teachers.  On a trip to Ghana in 2012, she did a workshop for teachers in the new school in Awate Tornu and looks forward to doing more teacher training in Ghana.  Currently, she helps organize BTCTE’s fundraising events, promotes the charity in local newspapers, serves as Secretary of the Board, and assists with composing BTCTE’s literature.

David Sachs US Based David Sachs maintains a law practice in Metuchen, New Jersey where he has lived most of his life. David is a graduate of Metuchen High School, the University of Delaware, and Brooklyn Law School. His law practice specializes in both residential and commercial real estate transactions, wills and probate, local municipal court and business transactions. David and his wife Rachel have two grown daughters.

Brian Valiquette US Based For 13 years, Brian has worked in the IT field. He has held a number of positions including Systems Analyst/Network Engineer at Engelhard Corp., where he was also the volunteer captain of the first aid squad, and most recently as an Information Security Risk Manager for one of the largest hospitality companies, Wyndham Worldwide. In his division at Wyndham, he is the volunteer fire marshal, and his proclivity for volunteerism has helped the children in his community for more than a decade. He has coached track & field and basketball for the Metuchen/Edison YMCA, coached softball for North Edison and Metuchen Little Leagues, and continues to coach soccer for Metuchen Recreation Commission. In his spare time, Brian uses his computer expertise to act as a veritable “geek squad” for technologically impaired family and friends, and will also use that experience to resolve the technology challenges of Breaking the Chain Through Education. He lives in Metuchen with his wife and two children.
